First up, Wangjiang Tower in Chengdu, China. Second, before you tell me it's too dark, check it out fullsize and think about it. Taken one winter morning with the tireless Chengdu morning misty rain hanging in the air, assisted somewhat by the effect on the air of being a city of ten million with an awful lot of cars.

You know that old phrase "The Mysterious East"? Chengdu evoked that for me on a daily basis, pretty cool for a city of such size. Maybe I'm just a sucker for mist.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

Without the pagoda type building on the right, it could be the Nile in Cairo as well, Mikel. I think pollution is a worldwide problem in bigger cities. It does add to the mistiness of the scene though.

The contrast in architecture is very well handled in this composition, Mikel....as is the mist and smog.

I don't think it's too dark at all. Especially given that this is a tough exposure to come up with to begin with. I like the exposure. My only critique is a personal one; that I would reduce the green saturation just a bit. Great job on this excellent shot.

Emptiness is not nothingness. It is simply the opposite of full of it.

This is Great!!!!
A bit darker with a quicker shutter or taken a bit earlier in the day would still be splendid!!
Nice Work!!

Down south a few hours in L.A., we call this smog. These are the type of shots that I adore when I'm roaming the woods in search of oak trees on a foggy day with the hope of achieving the layer upon layer as the trees get lighter as they fade into the fog. The building in the foreground is wonderfully detailed even though it's rather dark. Each layer of skyscrapers is a little lighter. Perfect DoF and superior composition. What the hell are you doing in China? I thought you lived in Australia.

Beautiful capture, nice and unusual building, somehow mystic. Beautiful job.
