Another shot of the 1880s Train, on it's way between Hill City and Keystone in South Dakota's Black Hills. I ran this one through a poster-edge filter and made it a black & white for Lyn's weekly contest. You see those tall, tilted poles, a few with wires and an occasional glass conductor? Those aren't rural power lines, they're telegraph poles, still here from the frontier days.

Telegraph poles! How neat Knik.
I like the editing very much with the billowing smoke from the steam engine. Would like to be there for a winter shot with the snow flying.

Good that you left in the telegraph lines AND that you told us what they were. I love this one in black and white...allows my imagination to step back in time and, maybe, seeing the first historic run of this long-hoped-for train forever memorialized in the local newspaper.
