Swing Bridge In Mist

Taken on the same morning as 'Mono Mist'. This was an operational swing bridge that was in use untill the early 1960's. As the canal was 'cut' during the 1700's, you may have guessed that the bridge is not the original one! The original swing bridge was located here so that flat bottomed barges with masts could continue their journey to the nearby towns of St.Helens & Wigan. I hope you like it.

I'm really enjoying all these misty pics lately. It fits the mood of the month in the Northern Hemisphere so well. That there is still that much green in unusual, but very welcomed.

Saw this beauty in the VB and just had to comment!
This as an absolutely gorgeous shot. Nice perspective, lovely reflections and I love the mood the mist sets in this pic.

Interesting narrative Stan. I haven't seen this type bridge, so for me it's unique. It casts a beauty of a reflection on the calm water. The mist is the *star* in this scene, enveloping the bridge and background trees in a moody yet beautiful way. Super job, and I gave it a high mark in the v/b :^>
