Second in a series of two shots taken at Boscobel Restoration. The Restored home of States Dyckman in Garrison, NY. This shot is of the rear grounds with a view of the Hudson River.
I love this! Such lush green, a mysterious fog hiding some nice silhouettes. The natural framing really adds to the beauty of the composition, and in do doing, the whole shot itself. Beautiful post...
Quite nice and I am sure that with the other this makes a fine companion.
Now then ... if I may be so bold ... the first thing that struck me is that vessel or container somewhat in the background (left of center).
My thinking is that it would provide a great focal point for your visual offering here, if you moved closer towards the precipice and caught the container in the shot.
And additionally, bring us the viewer, closer to see what is beyond the grounds and onto the water below. In my humble opinion, that is where most of the visual interest lies.
Just some thoughts and suggestions, 'tis all.
Pleasant setting, but of course.
I do get the impression that you were conflicted with leaving the natural framing of the trees and moving into the shot more so?
As is, yes ... it is a very pleasant and tranquil scene. :o)
this is such a beautiful scene. i love the fog and the colors and everything...my only complaint (which is a very small one) is that i think i would like less grass/ground and more of the actual river. maybe crop it and add just a simple black border? just an idea. i really like this though, great work! ~abby
Very nice image, however, too much foreground and that is not the focal point of the composition. A little fixin' and it would make it a wonderful presentation.
