The glacier itself is in the center of the picture in the moutains. It is on e of Alaska's most visited glaciers, which is a retreating glacier, disappearing more & more each year. Yet still a breathtaking site!
Yes it is the same everywhere, the glaciers are getting smaller each year, i can certanly see that in the Alps when i am on holliday there. What ever the case, this image is awesome ! what a view, and a great place for a hike, thanks for the posting.
What really impresses me about this - apart from the fact that words can't describe it - is the symmetry. The curve in front of the camera is echoed by the curve in the distance. What a shot. Thank you so much for letting me see this.
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.
