GENIUS! my grandaughter, olivia, would think a picture of her like this was the most amazing thing she's ever seen. she would never stop looking at it. it's perfectly wonderful. you got julia to pose in the perfect way. did you add a different layer to put the basket with simba and the cat(?). i'd love a set of directions. it is just about the coolest thing i've ever seen. of course, you have to have the right child!!!
Directions? Hmmm, Ok.
The dolls are thumb sized in reality. The set is one composition. However, I shot it three times over with diferent focusing points. So the backstage, the horse and the pets are seperately focused photographs of the same composition. By doing this it becomes easy to select three different layers which are all razor sharp. (the original is 5616x3744 pixels).
And then I took a seperate shot of Julia, in the same light conditions. Simba was pulled from the archives and the grass is artificially painted in. Just like the flowers and the butterflies.
I placed the whole scene of a scroll of white paper to make it easier to select the ground and background and work it over.
I used a wide angle lens (EF 17-40mm) at 50 ISO and F10.
Shot from a tripod and uploaded in .PNG format for best results.
Enjoy!
Paul
Paul, the detail in this image is incredible! I can see the single strands of flyaway hair on the heads of the dolls. I can also see the scuff marks, cracks etc on the corners of the purple toy. Julia looks darling. Those 21 mp are pretty impressive when this is viewed at the 3000x2000.
I know there is more for me to see..so off I go to view it.!
Looks like you are having lots of fun!!!
Well Paul, my little granddaughter will love this for her
Mamas computer,(since Mama lets her use it too) Shes only seven, but will adore this. You did a wonderful job in capturing all the tiny details. And then to put Julia right into the whole setting. It must have been exciting to her to be "in" there with all the fun little people.Thank you my dear friend. Verena
Very cool! I almost didn't see her in there she looks so much like one of the dolls! I can see you enjoy her immensely. She's lucky to have such a cool dad.
