What I think you are capturing here is that mid-afternoon heat and haze that comes over these high flat fields...and the stillness is shown by the motionless windmill. Great subject and angle, extremely difficult light conditions. If you are interested in playing with this...you might want to try putting it through one of the hdr software programs (there are some that will offer a free trial period). That might bring out a bit more color and also emphasize those interesting clouds.

A UV filter might have eliminated the haze. Love the idea.

Its a small world; but I still wouldn't want to paint it.
unfortunately your image is a little to burned out. It almost
looks like you are behind glass and that the reflection played into your capture. Thanks for sharing.
