Good shot! Looks like he's giving you the hairy eyeball, though. And that beak looks pretty sharp.

The heron's shadow really "makes" this one for me, Tom. D10F and lots of kudos. :) (By the way, maybe the hairy eyeball wasn't aimed at you...perhaps he just stepped in something squishily unpleasant. LOL)

Gosh Tom, you must drive thru bird land to get home!! lol. I love this photo & that hairy bird. I agree with Mary that the bird's shadow is as appealing as the bird itself. Great lighting, color & clarity! Another one for "The Bird Folder"! High marks & thanks again!

i really don't think that i can say more than the above have already wrote. this is a great shot. glad to see it in it's natural enviroment also. i love herons, had a baby one in my backyard 2 years ago. great shot :)
