This is the creek that drains the Lower Six Mile Lake. Despite the temperature being -9 degrees, it still flows, if barely. The steam from the water coats the banks. Surprisingly, it wasn't as slippery as it looks.

Catching warm light on a cold surface makes for an interesting photo and you've captured a superb specimen of that here. The colors look rich but not overly rich, which makes for a believable scene. Well done.

Nice detail and coloring! Gosh, Mom Nature sure knows how to set up a glorious shot, doesn't she? (smile) Glad you knew how to beautifully capture it and share with us!

If you count wind chill, we get colder (we always have wind in Nebraska), but for raw temperature I think the coldest we have had this winter is -7. And unlike Alaska, it doesn't stay. This is the region of yo-yo temperatures. Today is 41, Monday's high is 10.

For a shot done with a little point and shoot Olympus, I'm not unhappy with the score. Eventually I'll save enough pennies to get nice camera again that my wife will complain she can't figure out. :-)
