Wow, this is amazing shot. Love the contrast of the shot and the colour & clarity is fabulous. Job very well done, Leslie.

Nice shot! I would leave the bud in the background, but might consider taking out the blurry twig in the lower left, but then I'm picky, LOL!

Personally I think the bud should go, it actually looks fine blurred like it is, but I think the photo would be totally perfect just with the one Fuschia in the black background. By the way, I would just love to do a canvas painting of this one. I have some black canvas, its actually acrylic, and it would look fantastic on there. Please let me know if that would be ok.I gave this a bigtime ten in VP too.THx Verena

I think that these flowers are some of the hardest to capture, and with that in mind, I want to congratulate you on this fine upload.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Beautiful shot! These flowers always remind me of tiny dancers. I would definitely leave the bud in the background. It adds to the depth and overall comp. The angle of it perfectly matches the blossom.

Thank you for the kind words and suggestions!

That twig's history, Larry, thanks. I'm more and more inclined to drop the bud, too. Whenever I look back at the image, it pulls my eye away from the flower in focus.

Verena, it would be an honor. I'll PM you, too.

Thanks again, everybody!

Awsome shot. The background is so soft and quiet that the eye leads straight to the flower. And that is how it is done properly. Well done.

This is a wonderful shot, so very well focused and I love the black background. It makes the flower stand out. Wonderful work!

Saw this featured on the front page Lesie. great capture of the Fuchsia blossom. As for your question, I would clone out the bud and the twig...they tend to draw the viewers eye away from the main bloom.
Otherwise, to my favorites it goes.
Many thanks for sharing this with me :=)
