This sunny room seemed almost a miniature when I poked my head into it. The short and narrow bed, spartan furniture, and low doorframe added only charm to these simple quarters at Fort York, Toronto.
Nice composition and very nice lighting in this photo. It does look a very spartan living quarter, but I lived in something similar in London last summer and know how appealing it can be. Well done.
Balancing the exposure between the window light and the room shadows must have been tricky. You pulled it of rather well. And I do like these peeks into the past. They remind us how much we take for granted today.
Isnt it amazing that so much can come from such simplicity? I like the light and shadows here.Especially the reflection on the bed...it sure brings in certain moods of quiet thoughts and loneliness. A very well put together image..thanx so much...verena
Hello again, Laura,
The greatest beauty lies in simplicity... or so it is said. I saw your image in the Voting Booth a couple of days ago and gave it a 10/10 without a moment's hesitation. Wonderful shot and I especially love the juxtaposition of light and shade and the patterns created on the couvert-lis (bedspread). Stunning! Well done.
I agree with everyone on this photo. The sunlight comming through the window onto the bed is to me the focal point and yet there is so much more to please the eye.PERFECT exposure!!.
