When I first saw this it amused me greatly. Here was a wall, on the Greek island of Zakynthos that the guids were telling us was nearly a thousand years old. And yet here was a house plant in a plastic pot just shoved into the alcove. Sometimes the Greeks seem to have no soul.

I find it very moving and beautiful !!
OK I agree, the ceramic pot would suit better perhaps ... LOL
Greek are lovable and practical people - things should look or be useful - old and new alike.
Many thanks for sharing this sweet image, dear friend !

I think you've captured the real way of life now in the 21st century beautifully. :)

Beautiful pic...lovely, lovely shadows. The oldest building in Virginia goes back to the 1600's I think. Thus we revere and preserve anything old, however ungraceful it may be! If we had the richness of ancient structures that Greece does, I suspect we'd just use them. Philosophy aside, I agree with the photographer here; the brightness of the pot doesn't bother me, but the use of plastic does!
