I was very lucky to get this shot. I had been driving down the motorway (M40) on my way home when I spotted this field through a break in the trees. Luckily, there was an exit just past it and I was able to back track till I found it again. The photo was taken about six years ago, whenever I drive past there I always look to see if the poppies are back but I have never seen them here again.

I love wild poppies. They are so simple yet so beautiful. This is a great shot. You were very lucky to see it. Straight to favourites.

What a huge grouping of them. Do things like this grow in cycles wild? I've never seen any of these that hadn't been planted deliberately...but I live in the frozen north, so I'm definitely not the authority on that!
