This is the front door and yard of the Notre Dame de Paris in a rather cool late afternoon. Among the statues of the saints in the palisade there is one holding his head in his hands (Yes, his own head!); I will post this detail as my next upload. Does anyone have any information on this, and on the other saints in that row? Who was he? Was he beheaded? Why is he holding his own head in his hands? A lot of other religious leaders in the old days were martyred (many of them beheaded-including St. Valentine after whom we have the Valentine Day). Why is it that only this one is presented (headless) in this row of statues? I would appreciate any comments re these questions from anyone who has the info! Rokh
