Love it! The flame-like movement of the foliage and flowers is in elegant contrast to the studied serenity of the tortoise. Super lavender shadows and palest pink light. Perfect as is, no room for improvement.

I love it! You're very talented! I always have trouble keeping the brush steady :P I'm not much of a painter I guess.

Simply great! The flowers directly above the tortoises head could be more like the ones on the left. But it is quite perfect this way too. Whis I could paint like that. But I can't, so gotta stick to photography...

That is a very nice piece. I love the colours, and it almost makes me want to just pick him up and take him home. I think the only thing that I would complain about is those weeds that you placed in front of him, just a little distracting. But, overall, great piece!

The tortoise itself is fabulous. I wouldn't change a thing in this pic (I'm a water color user myself; honestly, I couldn't hack oils). It seems as though he's against the wall though, or perhaps you got a little bored with painting the foliage. However, the foliage that I do see is georgeous and painted in such a way that it's perfect for it's location. You did a great job on this.

This painting is stunning. I use charcoal, never have tried oils but after seeing this I might want to try painting with it myself.
