I took this picture of a couple of trees, and one of them looked rather as if it had a face. So I played around with it a bit.....

Hehe! Well done, Simon :-)
Just a critic: you've a little problem with the white balance of your camera. The result is a magenta dominant in the ground's color. If your camera accepts it, you've to choose a manual adjustment before taking the photo. If not, you've to correct it with Photoshop after taking the photo.

Thanks all for your interest and comments :-) It's near Golitha Falls, in Cornwall (UK),mckinleysh. Thanks for the critic, Pierre - I think the camera "corrects" what it sees as an excess of green in shots like this. I re-balanced it a little at the image-processing stage, but obviously not enough. And Pim - I'm flattered you think I'm Samatar.... ;-)

its an intersting photo.... you should talk to Monkeypuzzle about it.. he is obsessed with things like this.... i like the title too... I made a book for my Fine Art degree.. 'titled self portrait of the artist as an A-Z'... i think we might have read the same book... '.... as a young man' :D

Hahahaha I did the double take when I saw that face. That is too cool Simon! Great job blending your face? into the tree. You shouldn't have done this, you are giving me twisted and unusual thoughts hehe;-)

lol - glad it got you, Darryl. I won't ask about your "twisted and unusual thoughts", but I'm starting to worry about you.... And Graeme - you're right that "...as a young man" was the idea behind the title, although I haven't actually read it...

That's a hoot, Simon! But shouldn't it be portrait of you as a 'young' tree? This tree looks fairly long in the tooth... er, root.

This is fantastic. absolutely fantastic shot, fantastic composition.

I don't like the face though, it probably would of been a better shot without it.
nevertheless i give it a ten (as if the face wasn't there)

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
