The distortions in the glass globe around this street lamp caught my eye, although they haven't come out well in the picture. I still quite like it, though - I think it's the warm colour of the lamp against the cold grey morning light. 7:30 a.m. 30th March '04.

This has a softness about it..the reflection of the trees in the globe is really fascinating. The light bulb looks warm, not hot..just a great photo! In my fav's. Thank you.

Thank you all! BJ, I took it as a compliment. I've always looked for photo ops but since going digital I find I'm looking at colour and light, form and texture, to the point of obsession. Walking to work this morning I found myself fascinated by the grain in a telegraph pole: watch this space....

Yes it would have been nice to have seen more of the reflection in the glass,but none the less all the other elements in the composition the blurred background and simple unclutered globe,light and tones make for a great photo.

I am not into artistic interpretations. Its a lightpost... But a great background. I like the way the globe in situated to the right. It allows for icons to be placed around it. The colors are not bright or abbrasive, like most backgrounds, and ammusingly enough, the simplisity of a lightpost made me smile. Exelent work. One of my favorite.

Would you look at all the comments here for a simple subject like a street lamp. Must be a reason for that. ... AHAH! ... Some fellow by the name of Simon has a keen eye, a steady hand, a marvelous imagination and knows how to compose an image. This image was soooooo worth the click from the gallery to here. Wonderful!
