A rare break in the clouds while walking the dogs on Dartmoor this morning. Taken from the foot of King's Tor looking towards Heckwood Tor and the western edge of the moors. 12th June '04.
Simon,
Beautiful capture, I am especially drawn to the gnarled tree that is just to the right of the center. Any chance of you taking a closer shot of that tree in the future? :c)
Breathtaking Simon. This photo is so fascinating. There are many things to look at..the sky, the hills, the distant land, the trees, the foliage....you have captured the rich colors perfectly. This is in my fav's on my HD, high marks & kudo's! Great job!
Thank you all, I'm glad you liked it. I may not get back there for a long time, Piner, but I'll keep an eye out for gnarly trees for you elsewhere.... ;-)
Hey Simon,
great shot, brings back a lot of memories.
While I was at university we went to Dartmoor for some field studies. We didn't see the sun, though, that day ;-)
Do you happen to have any pictures of the small oak forest? That was my favourite spot.
Great capture and yes this brings back some memories for me as well. I was stationed in Sicily while in the Air Force and the countryside looked something this with of rocks in the soil and sheep etc. very peaceful and a very clear capture. Good work.
