The Six Spot Burnet is an ideal moth from a photographer's point of view - although it's only around 2cm long it's bright and colourful, active by day, and reluctant to fly (although this one did wander out of shot a couple of times).

Love this one...most of these moths stand in the shadow of their more beautiful brothers and sisters the butterflies.
But look at this wonderfull creature...sin't he worth a shot

Hi Simon. Every little detail and color shows in this little thing. I appreciate that you include the true size in your description. You have to be looking pretty hard to find it in the first place let alone focus in on it. Impressive.

I agree with your description, Simon. I spent a lot of time photographing it´s "cousin" - the burnet with five spots..hehe. In Sweden this is a butterfly, a day butterfly (called Allmän bastardsvärmare) You captured it very well, Simon. 9/10.
