Well, talk about coincidences (kind of, sort of)..

Had viewed your other image of the guard the other day and had the thought that.. either closer or backing up some ... might be interesting.

Guess my creative telepathy worked?

Both are fine shots.

I think this one stands out to my mind that tad more. As I like the (somewhat) look and feel of isolation depicted here of that of the guard in and amongst his environment. Underscores the theme of his duty/occupation well.

Shooting when you did and capturing the long shadows is also a plus.

Caveats?

Undecided on the perspective distortion.

I had actually downloaded your photo here and a quick trip into Photoshop employing the Edit > Transform > Distort function/option ... proved, that at least, it is readily and easily corrected if desired.

However..

Came back to undecided viewing both side by side. Might be because of the lack of equidistant between the three pillars with respect to your composition. Not sure.

Annnnyways..

That nonsense of mine aside.. again ... very nice shot.

Very impressive building. It is interesting how different the guard looks in this version. Isolated, yes. With that chain in front of him, even almost imprisoned. Enjoyed this shot.

Definitely better and more informative which I appreciate most of all [almost]. But still the question remains what the booth is for... Not the shelter, not the loo, is it? LOL
I guess I know - there must be mirror there so that when the street gets absolutely empty, he goes in and checks his appearance, like the tie, if correct or the cap, if straight...
Do I get the cookies for guessing right, please ...?
