I've already posted a shot of the door close up, but this is the full frontage of Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Once again I've gradient mapped the image to really bring out the detail.
What can I say, Ray, about this shot that doesn't make me sound like I'm gushing at your skill set? Some times the images come down to a series of decisions about color saturation or composition. The confidence you demonstrate in your work speaks for itself. The shot is perfectly focused and perfectly composed. Your choice of a monotone is perfect. I'm wondering if a half a click of contrast in the lower half of the shot might have added more definition to the exquisite detail work. A solid 9 out of 10 and a fave for me.
Nicely done--I like the way you put the image in a frame that emphasizes the symmetry of the Gothic style. I've also got some Cologne shots I took in April that I haven't posted yet. Posted one here.
