The drama of the curving road and fence leads me to prefer this shot over the more normal Spring Scene... and it also occurred to me to wonder, in this scene, how that tree managed to survive the curving road all these years!
This isn't snow? This is the most beautiful magical and dramatic photo! I don't know or understand how you did this, but it is absolutely perfect in every way. That fence is just fantastic. And the curving of the road along with the lovely flowing hills, and the perfect trees. I think it's really one of the best photos I've seen here! Awesome. Verena
Nope, not snow. It's a warm spring day and the tree central to the image has leafed out heavily and is standing amid fields of grass.
Foliage reflects a lot of infrared light and photosynthesis causes a little fluorescence, so folliage burns bright in IR images. Where the trees in the background look dark it's because their branches are still mostly bare.
WIth portraits, skin is eerily pale and near perfection; eyes are profoundly black. Blue skies are nearly totally black and clouds that your eye can't see appear.
The tree's fared reasonably well because the road links four modest farms to the highway - not much traffic.
Thank you for taking a look and for leaving such encouraging comments.
