Found myself on a surprise Safari for my birthday this year, and this is one of a few shots I took that day. This camel is known as the Bactrian camel which has two humps. This variety, due to widespread domestication, has an estimate of only 950 individuals left. These wild camels can only be found in North West China and Mongolia and have been placed on the critically endangered species list. They can live upto 40 years old. Thanking you in anticipation for any comments.

What an interesting angle to this photo. Looks like one head and two bodies. Lucky you to be on a safari. Good post.

I think he is looking in at you. At me, maybe, too. Almost 3-d as he advances on the frame before him. If he is taking our orders, I would like two humps, please.

Laughing at casechaser comments here! What cute eyes this little came has! So big and cute. Too bad he is one of so few, but at least there are still that many. Hopefully they will do alright. This is such a pretty photo. You went on a Safari, now tht is truly special.Verena

This take some looking at, to figure it out. I had to rub my eyes to see if there was another camel there or not. I can see there is now. I love the expression on it's face. Really nice shot, Ann. So you went to China or Mongolia for just one day?
