You know what this reminds me of? A commercial for the navy that showed a scene pretty much exactly like this with just the sand and waves breaking and then the screen goes black. They then showed the same scene with footprints in the sand emerging from the water. Pretty powerful commercial actually. Simple, but powerful, as is this shot.
The sky seems to indicate a coming storm, or nightfall which adds a bit of mystery to the image. I like the perspective as well. Nice work Tom.
