This was based on my Jewel Thief wallpaper, which has a Xaos fractal background along with a jewel I made after studying tutorials by Nathan. Les (Purmusic) kindly looked at Sugarspun and suggested it might suit the theme of the Oxymoron contest, so I popped it under the grilled and heated it up...

Particularly like that you brought out more of the detail and structure of the underlying fractal in the side areas. That was part of, in my humble opinion, the diamond in the rough that was "Sugarspun".

And serendipitously, the jewels appear to be now, more so than their previous incarnation ... melting spheres of ... er, something?
