B&W of red rose and daisy I know that B&W of flowers, especially, roses, is not traditional but more than color I love the contours and shape of the rose which is highlighted better without the color

Allison - The b/w offers a different treatment of the rose, so often presented in color. The sharp edges are very nice, drawing the eye to the center of the flower. Thad

Yes, the absense of color makes this a study in texture, light and shadow. You have a good eye, Allison, I think...

'Let's eat Grandma!' or, 'Let's eat, Grandma!' Punctuation saves lives...

Nice shot, love the detail of the petals seen in b&w. Also the angle is good.

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

its unusual to see flowers in B&W but it certainly seems to work here. It allows the eye to concentrate on the detail and texture of the petals. I might steal you idea ;)
