This image was taken in a secluded gorge near the Kentucky River after an extremely cold winter started to set in. The ice and snow made it more interesting than it is in the summer.
This image is well done. I like the way the ridges in the terrain form that critical "V" that draws the viewer's eye to the center of the image where your erratic diagonal gives a dynamic to the image. The natural colors soften an image otherwise harsh because of the ice. I would like to see this image shot with a longer exposure, so the water would smooth out. Either that or with a shorter exposure, so the water would be more crisply rendered. Being between crisp and smooth results in it being blurred, and that's a bit distraction. Thanks for sharing, and I hope this image gets more attention.
Geat image. I'd give it a high mark. I agree about the dark rocky ridges drawing the viewer's eye up to the sunny golden spot, which softens it with a hint of warmth. I think I prefer the moving water being somewhat blurry because it makes an obvious contrast to the cold hard ice. But that's just my own point of view.
