Went home for a week and finally remembered to bring my good camera with me to take some good pic's of the Mississippi River. This one was taken along the widest part of the river, just north of lock and damn 13.

To me this shot is an attention getter. Because of the way the tree is positioned and the water behind, then the sky beyond, it takes some time to figure out where and what the proportions are. Great job, although I think we're headed off to the left a bit on the horizon line..this is if I'm seeing what the horizon line is. Great job on this one.

it's about 2 miles wide here..this picture was taken off one of the bluffs..as for the horizon i was a bit confused at first too. cause i even used a level tripod. After i thought about it it came to me. i took this picture in Clinton IA and that is were the river bends alot. well i did straighten it at first anyways but then it really looked goofy, at least to me cause all the trees and grasses were leaning to the right....so i left it...;)
