I took this while experimenting with a Sony point and shoot. I love gadgets, but I'm the photography dolt in my family! We have some gardenia bushes in our front yard that actually survived the ice storms of this past winter and we were absolutely thrilled that they are putting out blooms this year. These blooms don't last long, so I was lucky to catch this at its peak

The composition of this is very good, with the halo of leaves around a single flower. The flower looks over exposed and lacks details on the white petals. This is common with P&S cameras and automatic exposures in this situation where most of the image is perfectly exposed and the one bright bit, the subject, then comes out too bright. Can you change to center weighted exposure?

However, welcome to Caedes, please post some more, and keep experimenting.
