Manchester (Princess St. crossing Charles St. near City Centre). I caught this one coming home, and I loved how the light came reflected from the building as if it were crossing the bridge from below.
I like the concept of this shot. But the only thing I don't like is the lack of detail in the surrounding buildings. They are too dark. Besides that is a nice shot.
Good idea but there isn't enough exposure to give the viewer an idea of what's in the forground since the black of the city or bridge doesn't contrast the dark blue of the sky.
what a dramatic photo! The contrast is very stunning however, it lets the viewer wonder about the buildings. What importance do those towering silhouettes have? Nevertheless, it is a quite striking photo
I don't mind the exposure as it is. With such a huge range of light between the sun and the shadows you are going to lose something. This balance is fine. Some other experiments might also be interesting. I like the little fleck of vapour trail on the left.
There is something slightly disconcerting for me about the framing. I would be interested to see a version framed with the sun a bit higher in the shot or just cropping the sky back to the top of the cloud. Interesting shot.
"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free."
If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
I like the dark night time feeling in this shot. And you are right, the light is really good down below. I love the silhouette feeling against that pretty sky. If you could have it on your program, maybe you could get rid of that electric light at the top left. It's a bit distracting. Will look forward to more photos from you. Verena
