In the wilds of the back country we see a scene of a life and death struggle. Near the Tennessee River grows this particular weed with pretty flowers. It has not gone unnoticed by the hunters in the woods and they busily invade and plunder the vegetation. For now they seek only the dead and dying but my guess is it want be long before the beauty falls afoul.

How sad Frank. You've certainly captured them doing their thing here with clarity. It's amazing that they don't go to the next one. Anyway, good photo and history. Thanks for sharing it. Anita

Very interesting shot and history. I didn't know about this before, so once again I learned something from another photographer. Thanks Frank.

Frank that's a beautiful thistle weed I believe and a fine shot as well. I think I'd just love to see a close up of this baby with all the distracting dead and brown cropped out. Your color in this shot is so rich. Thanks for sharing. anne :-)
