They use the term bird brain for a reason, Frank. As I sit at my computer there's a telephone pole about 200 feet away, and the acorn woodpeckers (we don't have your species) invariably waste half their day trying to find insects where no reasonable insect would ever be found. I occasionally shout, "Hey, idiot, try a tree." They just look at me like I'm the dumb one.
Sharply focused, beautiful colors, wonderful detail with that glint in his (or her) eye. A solid 8.275 out of 10.
A very good capture of this one Frank, I'm seeing them here too, but no picture as of yet. I think you could have cropped some off the left, to have him more off centered, but you did a great job on focus, and color. Tigs♥ =^..^=
This is a Red-Headed Woodpecker. I had one frequently visit my feeders a couple years ago. Wonderful capture of him, Frank ... woodpeckers seem to be attracted to telephone poles.
This is a brilliant shot of this woodpecker. It does look like he has his beady little eye on you too. Great opportunistic shot and very clear too. Well done! Ann
This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By. Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
