"Eyes open:

Carved candied dreams, Painted pristine in a white canvas Cut
from cookie pressed perfection, as Sugar coats disarray with sweet satisfaction, dusting hidden feelings:
by an extended whim/ Grasping upon a emotional yearning, Crack
I’m opening/ like bitter batter Exposing
lemon twists and chilean spice-d reveries. A momentary diversion
from a world viewed in the clarity of eccentricity
falling
within A picture of /sweet memoirs and imagination, Erasing sunset's painting... deleting anarchy/ soaked stars in the fallen nights abyss.

Dismember reality when you dream
there is none eyes closed:

Star
gaze with me
in our world
sewn together at the touch of sugar kiss*es enveloped within the absurdity held within our heart.s"

You not only stopped and smelled them, you dried them as well. I hope those were not tears you dried away. If so, only happy ones.

OMG, Emily, the symbolism of it all.

Do you think they are afraid of what they see and report back to you with the softest of touches? Protecting you from the realities you have already experienced and themselves for feeling the the pain in the present.

I say, toss 'um, and all the strings that bind them to you. ~~ John

well now i need to post:

"Translucent red, crinkling clear
from the corner store’s package of passion.
Twenty five cent one night stands and two dollars
will make her jealous.
Do your senses perceive why the thorn prick on your finger tip fills the marks of our lost grip
on true adoration?
Deep blue turns red, so we can view the beauty of nature,
red turns deep black so we can take nature’s beauty
and destroy it."

-EaB

to be fair, though i dislike the death of flowers i do like how these roses dried into a heart, entirely at least consciously not on purpose on my part, not sure if i want to cut them off too soon but maybe they will be annoying dust collectors at some point

Those roses have dried a lot since your first shot of them. I like to dry flowers. It is better than tossing them away and they take on another kind of beauty in their preserved state. You must be loved quite a lot to receive so many bouquets.

Funny how a bunch of flowers will dry up and still retain their color. Dreams are the same way. They may grow old but they will always retain their feeling and color. A heart is perfect for these roses. If I had a poem to add I would:) Great shot

Pretty colours in your dry flower arrangement. Some reasonably nice poetry being shared around. I don't even have a raunchy limerick to add, let alone a poem. A nice job with your photo.

"Thorn of a Rose" by Dark at Dawn

"Across the light blue sky
There are nothing but clouds
And all the trees once green
Have dropped their lifeless leaves
Where is the blackest rose
The only one I would choose
Her colourful bloom's all I need
For my dark ego to feed

On the search for the flower desired
Find the way, find the way to her
Through the shadows by shining fire
Find the way

The search for the black rose has ended here
She is standing right in front of my eyes
I'm kneeling down, stretch my hand to pick
The flower to quench my desire
My heart bleeds as the bloom loses all her colours
My finger bleeds as a thorn pricks it . . .

Wounds heal and you'll see
That a rose is not only there to hurt you

Beyond the dark grey clouds
There is nothing but light
At night the stars will shine bright
When wind thrusts the grey clouds aside
I see red roses in bloom
Their beauty and nothing like gloom
Only a fool couldn't see
What I've just discovered for me"
