i have no idea what it is either, but its a beautiful colour and i love the fluffy bits!! you certainly got your gran a nice boquet! and she can have shots of it too! Nice job!

It appears to be some form of Protea. A flower found in the western cape area of South Africa. Part of the "Fynbos" plant group. Do a google search for the King Protea for a truly magnificent flower.
