This swan is riding out the gales that hit Britain on 12th March 2008. It is taking 'shelter' in The Marine Lake at New Brighton, opposite Liverpool. The wind was blowing at 56mph whilst I took this picture.

I bet his feet were going ten-to-the-dozen under the water!!!
This was one really brave swan out there. Well spotted and really good capture!

Yikes! I've never seen a swan in heavy surf before. Good one, Steve. I hope the swan rode out the storm.

Nah that Swan ain't surfing PJ this is a surfing Swan. Caution this is not for the faint hearted !!
