This is an orchid that was given to us as a present. I photographed it along with many other objects in my house to practice using my new Nikon D60.

This has to be my very favourite of all you have posted, its wonderful! The colours just leap out at you against the dark background.

A D60 hey Steve, a good choice with the new image stabilised lens. How did you get the background so dark.
