When driving down an old country road in Alabama I nearly wrecked my car after spotting this old beauty sitting out in a field. I sat and looked at this plantation home for about thirty minutes, awed by its striking beauty. It made me think about the movie " Gone With The Wind". I hope you enjoy this photo.

Hey Bucksutton. Being from the Old World, I can only look on with envy at the majesty of these colonial style homes of the New World. I can imagine former occupiers sitting on the terrace sipping at iced tea. This home exudes former glory. What a shame it has been abandoned to decay. Good photo.

Oh what character is on display here. If only this this grand ole mansion of the South could tell it's tells. Luv the detail in that wood. Excellent viewpoint you chose. Mission accomplished- to display the old South.
Suggestion: These wonderful photos need to be displayed in a higher resolution. Explore the Menue on your camera. I know it has a higher resolution.

I agree with Pat, your photo only makes me want more detail. The shingles, paint chips, all apply more character as well as depth. Still a great place and good shot. Look again at the front door and the trim above it. What details; Wow!

Hey neighbor to the south! I love this place and it's still in fine, fixable condition. This is a stately grand mannor. I'm quite a tresspasser when it comes to these places, I tend to go out with a map book and get lost in little speck towns and 'unincorporated' areas on weekends. I'd have looked for a way in or at least peeked through the windows!

It sure tells a story, just sitting there as it does. Being there in person must have been even more haunting.. imagining the activity that would have taken place when the home was still alive with inhabitants. Anyway, you captured it well, although I bet you remember it in even more rich detail! Beautiful!
