The entrance to my apartment house in Aspen, Colorado. Taken with my iPhone4s. I have been looking for interesting, high contrast textures, and started with this. Some PS adjustments for highlight and background, as well as the sharpening tool. I hope you enjoy!

The only bit that could be changed is the small lit area on the left, that looks a little out of place. Such a strong image otherwise.

First.. nice shot, Tracy.
Believe your own accompanying narrative is most apt as a descriptor for your image here. Nice one.
Now then..
Tony Kuyper Photography - Tutorials
In particular, the "Luminosity Masks", "The Magic Mid-tones", and "Luminosity Painting".
Some brilliant post processing/editing techniques, in my humble opinion. Towards the ends of squeezing more out of the photographic data in your photos.
And I would suggest giving his other tutorials a read through as well. As he covers HDR photography and a different approach.
That said..
Envious of your entrance. An inviting one, it is, and this is a great textural/lighting shot.
