Nice pattern, what is it?

My first thought was an abstract illustration of red blood cells. The three in the middle have a color difference in their centers from the other "cells" and I wonder if this is a mutation or not. But, whatever they may be, you got me to "google" red (and white too) blood cells to see if they are similar to beem2.
