Great photograph Richard. There is something eternal about this image - i cant workout the season in which this was taken so in a sense it seems to transgress the weathering effects of time: It feels as if it has been bought fourth from a weak memory...

I like the use (or lack) of colour, and the black around does not interrupt the picture.
The light hitting the ground and the foliage adds to the whole texture of the scenery, while the shot itself is well positioned - a central focus works well here.
