I took this picture of a little girl I met in Mexico. Her family didn't have much, but they were happy nonetheless. Made me very thankful for how much "stuff" I have. Thanks for looking! Critiques are welcome here!
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, His eternal power and Godhead;... Rom 1:20
I like the idea, the B&W works well although I find the little splash of pink colour rather spoils it. Is it a picture about poverty or not? She seems well dressed. If it is a picture of a pretty girl then you really need to be at her level. You are looking down on your subject as though in passing. It would, in my view, have been better if you had kneeled or squatted down to be at her face level to get the shot and used a low aperture to blur out the background.
Lovely little lady. I like the B&W/color effect. I would suggest that you stoop to her level to photograph her rather than shooting down on her. It would make a more interesting photo. Other than that it's a nicely done image.

Great idea. Beautiful subject. You filled the screen with your subject. I agree with Russ though most of the time it is a, no no to shoot down on your subject. One other minor point, you cut her foot off. Great job and thanks for sharing.
Pro 15:16 Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Pro 15:17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Beautiful pic! Nice use of color in black and white. Check out a pic in my gallery called "Ageless" that uses similar technique. Keep it up! I just got this in the comments box, and reccomended it to the Art Council. Have an awesome day!
It's a very nice presantation. Perhaps the b/w is expresses the real live of the child. In some cultures, such as the US, pink is the color of little girls. So Danielle, your pink i photo means a lot for the future life of the child, feeling with hope.
