Ok, most certainly an improvement over your original posting. The realism factor has been kicked up, that I doubt most would know that this is a CGI piece.
Not that realism need be the only consideration. More so ... a compliment to you and your creative efforts and inner eye.
In short, this works ... and works well to my eyes.
"There is always something waiting at the end of the road ... if you're not willing to see what it is ... you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."
Excellent impact and first impression. I would like to see a little definition to the leaves ( separation of individual leaves ) in the solid white areas of the tree. Still, Definitely a keeper.
I tried really really hard to be critical, really I did but the one compositional thing I was going to suggest turned out to be wrong cos you'd already done it, so I think this is near enough to perfect. Maybe the odd tiny bit of water texture a bit further into the large black area on the left, just enough for the eye to create a sense of the water below and the darkness above rather than it all just being "black" on that side. Sweet idea magically expressed.
Mikel.
I feel into the trap of being negative about my images, allways thinking this one or that one was not good enough.
Photography is a personnal way of showing through the lens what YOU think is a clear or well composed shot. So if you like the finished image that should be good enough.
And to finish I have to say your shot is a very well thought out and creative. Top marks and well done.
This is one of my favs I have seen on here. Makes an excelent background. Like Bursa said, you may have some great shots and some horrible shots in other peoples eyes but it's what you see in your eye that counts.
I think this one should stay put.
'Nuff said?
