This is the "great barn" located on the property of the Northern MI Asylum(circa-1885-preserved). N.M.A. is located in Traverse City,MI. It was a "great barn" indeed..a self-supporting asylum in those days..chicken,eggs,milk,meat(cows,pigs,chickens)veg. gardens w/pleanty of "canning" going on.
