When I opened this photo I SMILED...what a MOST lovely intriguing picture! It makes me feel as tho "us photographers" all share a secret! I suppose we all "trespass" in some way...and isn't it fun and doesn't it come out so wonderful? I don't really think anyone would mind..Altho I came to a "dead end" path which sported a " Do Not ENter, Posted" sign..and for some reason I just could not even go in far enough to turn my car around...and I had VERY little room to do that in...I love this photo! It gives me the best feeling..thank you for posting it!!! I just love the curvature of the fence!!
"A piece of toast with butter always lands butter side down, and a cat always lands on its feet. What happens if a piece of toast is tied butter side down to the back of a cat? Does it perpetually hover above the ground in indecision when dropped?"
I really like this - it appeals to photographers - because we all know how it is to get so caught up in getting the perfect shot that we are "lost in the moment". I get that feeling from this photo! Thanks!
It is funny to look at both and see how greatly the mood of the image can change due to only the perspective.
I really like the atmospheric effect that the surroundings have on the photographer. Just the feel of the land and the components visible really makes you imagine it is some place from a story, but no, it is tangible for real photographers! It shows that at least some of us leave home once in a while and will work for our shots. :-)
In my opinion, this shot could be greatly enhanced by framing it a bit different. By shifting the angle of the shot, Milo could have been in the bottom corner of the shot while still maintaining his status as the "subject". It would not only the shell of same-old forming around this image, but it would give him a sense of looking out on the world. This would only be enhanced by the camera, as he is narrowing in on his objective, whatever that may be (even though we know). It really has a more emotional impact in that sense.
It is nice to see more of us up on the site, keep posting!
just a short comment.. I saw this up in the voting booth and I had to put it on my desktop as vindication for my own actions, as it so well depicts what all above me from years past have said...the same sentiment holds true today..lol...as a matter of fact, I did the same "trespassing" as well, as I tramped around a Christmas tree farm this afternoon, but I didn't see any shotguns and no one was chasing me off...there's something benign and complimentary about a person behind a lens...heck I wouldn't mind if someone stopped to take a pic of the flowers in my yard :)PJ
