very low clouds while we were out xcountry skiing a couple days ago, not much opporitunity for taking pictures, although this one turned out alright. we had a whiteout where you could only see like 20 feet at the top of the pass, kinda scary

Bleak? not hardly bleak! Its beautiful! the trees and the snow..are just perfect..yes that would be a bit scarey...not to be able to see far...when so high up..Its a gorgeous shot!! Bravo!!!

Having in mind the weather conditions - exceptionally awsome photo. Congratulations Carl. Maybe we cannot see far beyond but you managed to capture the perspective and the mountains seem so powerful almost overwhelming the rest of the scenery.
