This flower is for my Great-grandfather who passed away last week. It seems like a flower he would enjoy. Although I am sad, this flower (as well as I am) rejoicing because he is in a much better place. And he was 90 so he had a great, long life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would also like to thank all of you for commenting on my pictures. I know there are hundreds of flower pictures out there way better than mine. After all, it is one of the easiest things to photograph. They don't move, they just sit there and look pretty! But you take the time to comment on my flower pictures and it means so very much to me. Thank you!

Hey! I just realized how small this is! If people would like, I'll post a bigger one tommorrow! Only if people want it though. So save your comments for the big one if you want it! Sorry I posted the small one! (and that this is such a mess!) Also, does anyone think that the highlights are too much on the flower? If so, I'll take them off. Thanks!

You did a terrific job with this. It is so clear and nicely lit. A beautiful tribute to someone you love. Sometimes emotion inspires us to our best efforts.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Mess nothing!

This is an absolutely gorgeous picture. The color is impeccable, the lighting gives it a soft, glowing feel, and the detail is very very good. You can see the flower almost sparkling. Beautiful. You are getting better and better all the time.

I'm sorry about your grandpa. Not sorry he's in heaven, because he must be celebrating right now. But I am sorry for you and the rest of his family, because they will miss him.
Just remember- We don't mourn like others mourn, who have no hope of seeing their loved ones again. We are sad like those who see a relative off on a journey, knowing we'll see them again later, and that when we do, the reunion will be sweet. To close your eyes once, and when you open them be in Glory.

I don't know if you know the name, Fanny Crosby. She was a woman who wrote hymns. And more beautiful hymns you'll not hear. They were hymns about how she had been blessed by God, and how much she loved him, and how much she praised him for all that he had given her. The only thing is, is that she was blind. My favorite thing about some of her songs, is how she talks about the first thing she's sees being Jesus' face. To close your eyes on earth, and open them in Glory. To see Jesus face, and rejoice with the angles forever. To see your mansion, and walk on streets of Gold. To talk with your family from ages past, and to walk and talk with Jesus.

You'll see him again. He'll greet you at Heaven's gates, standing with Jesus and all who've gone on before. Remember, we mourn not as others mourn, who have no hope! We have great hope, and knowledge that we'll see them again!
Praise God. I know you miss him, I've lost all my grandparents except one. But my Grandpa Haynie always said, don't cry for me when I'm gone, because I won't be crying in heaven. He told us to have a celebration for him when he died, because that is what he would be doing in heaven. My favorite thing he always said was when he would leave. Instead of saying goodbye, he'd say, "Here, there, or in the air." We will always see our saved loved ones again. Praise God!

Caiden.

So sorry to hear about your Great-Grandfather, I'm sure he would have liked this flower photo; it's a great photographic epitaph.

Even though this is a solid yellow flower (stamen and petals etc), the way you've captured the subtle shading and details is fantastic!

Thanks so much for sharing!
