The Snake House of the San Antonio zoo has a distinctive southwestern flair. Those thick adobe walls keep the snakes comfortable year round. The dim lighting may be appealing to the boas, adders, asps, pythons, and vipers, but leave a lot to be desired if you want to do any available light work. I was traveling light this day so no strobe. :(

A nice view of the snake house - Pythons and boas on the ground floor please - vipers upstairs - Rattle Snakes get away, you are no novelty here :)

The structure looks the same as many at the Denver Zoo. I wonder if they use the same Architect for many of the zoos.

I like the architecture of the snake house, it has some very interesting lines. I also like that it fits in so well in the surroundings.
