As I don't think you've been one of my 'victims, as of this writing here. :oP
Cutting to the creative chase..
Downloaded your photo and messed around with it.. Chris' words above providing the impetus of sorts to see how the visual impact would change with a tighter crop. And here are the results:
"Angora" - Cropped (and some other post processing performed; see below).
Had the thought, after reading Chris' words that if your image is about the flow of water.. to make it more so, simply put.
Other post processing performed..
Employed a tutorial on site here, that of Phil's; aka philcUK "Faking the HDR thing...". Towards the ends of some Shadow/Highlight adjustments. And more so, to my eyes and monitor.. a slight correction for the yellow colour cast with respect to the Curves adjustment.
Oh, and the above technique can add some additional dimensionality, as well.
High Pass Sharpening method.. with a low/small radius. Your images always have great quality (focus, clarity, exposure, et al).. just a lil' assist, that's all.
And.. done.
Whatcha fink?
That aside..
Know that I enjoy your work behind the lens. The above is some creative food for thought and nothing more or less.
And a (somewhat) belated Happy New Year to you and yours. :o)
p.s. Right, almost forgot.. cropping as I did, removed the two small bushes/plants in the mid-upper'ish left-hand side. For whatever reason or reasons.. doing so appealed to my eyes and simplified stuff within frame. Bringing more focus to the element of the moving water.
Hey hi you, happy new year to you too! this is a wierd one, it actually makes you feel like youre moving when you view it full screen! lol. good stuff. im not sure ive ever had a shot that has done that. (wow and i havnt even had a drink) i like les's rework too.
