This is one of the hiking trails in the Picacho State Park along the lower Colorado River (border of California and Arizona). The location is also the site of the gold mining town of Picacho.

Beautiful view, I would have wanted maybe a little more colorful ground to that bright sky. It looks like hell (as you've put it in the title) or mars.

ANOTHER PICACHO LOVER and San Diegan! This is awesome! I just love Picacho. I'm a Santee native, but soon the military is moving me and my hubby to Boise, Idaho. Thanks for sharing. Check some of my Picacho pics. :)
