On the way to Florida I stopped at the Savannah, Georgia, Welcome Center and asked where I could find the most picturesque part of the city. I was directed to the historic waterfront. Yes, it was interesting but, since I'm from Montreal which also has a historic waterfront, it wasn't as different and unique as I had hoped - except for the paddle-wheel boats. When I passed this lane I recalled an excellent photographer on Caedes who takes pictures of lanes and decided to emulate him. So here we have, certainly not the most photogenically glamorous shot of Savannah, but an interesting deployment of bricks just the same. I would call your attention particularly to the total absence of snow.

Ed, you've found the best place in the area to stay out of the sun. You don't want a recurrence of yesterday's sunstroke.

Love the shot. It's very different from the "typical" Caedes posting. There's much character in the shot. The eye is immediately drawn to the sunlit background which you intelligently avoided. A very interesting perspective shot of the guts of Savannah.

Problems that these old eyes see: There seems to be some motion blur. Possible it was too dark down in the catacombs for a shot without a tripod. The brickwork is not quite a sharply focused as I would have liked and the ceiling seems slightly unfocused. The colors in the lit background are fabulous although that white chunk in the center might be a tad overexposed. Hope you're having a great time, and remember that too much sun is not a good thing.

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.

Very cleaver shot, love how the light and shade changes as you eye runs to the top of the scene.and is bathed in sun shine at the top.Plus this is full of changing colours too, well done.

This one has so much character. If you could bring the contrast and shadows out a bit more, I'd love it even more, as it is now, it seems a bit undefined in a couple areas. But I still really really like it!

You are to be commended for your handling of the myriad angles, twists and turns alone. The composition is excellent.
I think there's even greater impact in the image, but with that complexity it needs some study.
Don't think you'll do any better than what you've just done so you may as well head on home.
